Bien Chauffeured: car services near every airport, in one database.

Four times a day, an n8n workflow finds the limo and car-service operators near each airport and stores them in Bien Chauffeured's Oracle APEX database.

The challenge

Basecamp Transportation runs Bien Chauffeured, a private chauffeur service for Napa and Sonoma wine country, with airport and private aviation transfers across Northern California.

Guests fly in from all over, so Basecamp needs trusted operators near many airports for affiliate and farm-out work. Finding them meant searching maps one airport at a time and copying details into spreadsheets that soon went out of date.

What we built

The search

  • The airport list read from Oracle, page by page.
  • A 50 km box around each airport, searched with Google Places for limo, limousine and car services, every results page.

The database

  • Each operator upserted into Oracle APEX by its place ID: name, address, phones, rating, reviews, website and Maps link.
  • New operators added, known ones refreshed, no duplicates.
  • Counts per airport and the last sync time, to show where coverage is thin.

Runs on its own

  • Four runs a day on n8n.
  • A saved cursor, so each run picks up where the last one stopped.
  • Rate-limit backoff, retries and short pauses between pages and airports.

Fits what they already run

  • Writes through ORDS into the same APEX workspace as the booking system.
  • The same logic as a standalone Python script.
