The Musey app on three iPhones: sign in, home ("Your Strategic Co-Pilot") and a streamed answer (sample data)

The challenge

Muse Storytelling teaches filmmakers to tell stories that sell. Musey, the AI mentor we built on the web, is trained on the Muse method.

Members are often on set or on the move, with voice notes, photos and documents rather than a desk. Muse wanted the mentor on their phones without a second back end, and a way to offer the same app under another brand.

What we built

The mentor on the phone

  • Sign in with the same account as the web app.
  • Answers stream in live, with an AI thoughts panel, copy and read aloud.
  • Lessons from the Muse library play inside the answer.

Talk, snap, attach

  • Ask by voice with speech to text.
  • Attach photos, documents or a whole project, so the answer draws on the member's own files.
  • Large images compressed on the phone before upload.

The method as playbooks

  • Strategic Storytelling Playbooks as native forms: pick a card, fill it in, send it to Musey.
  • A structured answer comes back in the chat.

Made for members

  • Conversation history with pin, rename and delete, and projects.
  • Profile preferences for the member's own voice, plan and billing, light and dark themes, and in-app feedback.

One codebase, two brands

  • One Flutter codebase for iOS and Android, on the same API as the web app.
  • MNTR, a second brand on the Musey platform, built from the same code with its own look and a voice-first screen.

In their words.

Everyone told me it would take six months to build a world-class AI storytelling assistant. One team said give us six weeks. They didn't just meet our deadline, they absolutely crushed it. It's not just development, it's partnership.
